LINSTEAD, St Catherine — Former champions Garvey Maceo High took charge of Zone Eight of the ISSA/LIME daCosta Cup Inter-zone football competition after beating Dinthill Technical 3-1 in their rescheduled game played at Dinthill in Linstead, yesterday.

Ryan Scott scored a hat trick to lead Garvey Maceo, who moved to four points from two games, and well ahead of Kemps Hill and St Thomas Technical, who are both on two points each, with Dinthill at the bottom of the table on one point and out of contention for the quarter-finals.

The game was originally scheduled for Saturday but was not played due to what the Jamaica Observer understands was “a colour clash”.

Garvey Maceo will complete their Inter-zone round schedule tomorrow against Kemps Hill High in the second game of a double-header at Jamalco, set to start at 3:00 pm.

Meanwhile, ISSA announced yesterday that Wednesday’s Zone One game between William Knibb Memorial and Grange Hill will be played at the Trelawny Multi-purpose Stadium, starting at 3:00 pm.

William Knibb and Green Island are each tied on four points, one more than Grange Hill, while the other team in the zone, Green Pond, are yet to get a point.

Sixteen games will be played tomorrow to decide the eight quarter-finalists.
