Tessanne’s key
TWO Jamaican singers have hailed coach Adam Levine’s decision to raise the key for Tessanne Chin’s rendition of the Jimmy Cliff classic Many Rivers To Cross on Monday night’s live performance of the American talent show, The Voice.
Nadine Sutherland and TOK member Craigy T told the Jamaica Observer yesterday that the move brought out the best in the song and highlighted Chin’s vocal abilities. (See related Story)
Levine explained that he raised the key because the original register would have been too easy for a singer of Chin’s calibre.
In the lead-up to Chin’s performance, which Levine described as “mind-boggling”, NBC aired clips of the coverage she received in Jamaica after the blind auditions, including the Observer front page of September 25.
