JUICI Patties in the Domes Plaza on Hagley Park Road, three years after expanding into the retail market, has now added lunch deliveries to its service offering.

Elaine Cross, the manager of the outlet, told Caribbean Business Report that it was a strategic move by the store to add value to its lunch offerings through utilising its core delivery services — the store was originally established to make wholesale deliveries of patties to schools within the corporate area.

“The Hagley Park Road branch was built from a delivery base. We decided to use this to facilitate customers who would like their lunches delivered straight to their desk,” Cross said, explaining the rationale behind the move.

The store has a vast lunch menu that includes a wide variety of popular Jamaican dishes such as jerk chicken, peppered steak, ox tail, cow foot and stew peas. Cross stated that the outlet will deliver to a wide cross section of places within Kingston and

St Andrew.

Cross stated that the company will use the same motor vehicles it uses to deliver patties for the lunch deliveries.

“We have four vehicles and we are prepared to add on with demand,” she said.

The Juici Patties outlet in the Domes started out as a strategic wholesale dealership for the Jukie Chin-led restaurant chain in 1999. It was set up to make wholesale deliveries of patties to schools within the Corporate Area, an underserviced market at the time. However, not long after, it is said that customers, having smelled the patties being baked at the location, started walking inside the facility demanding retail service.

Hence, the outlet began offering retail services, culminating with the expansion of the store from a 500 square-foot building in the Domes Plaza into a 3,500 square-foot full dining facility within the same complex in 2010.

Juici Patties is the largest fast-food chain in Jamaica with some 60 restaurants. The 33-year old company has rapidly expanded since the 1990s through franchising partnerships. Earlier this week it announced that it had terminated franchise agreements with four restaurants due to below standard service.
