UTech to open Dome Street campus
MONTEGO BAY, St James — EDUCATION Minister Rev Ronald Thwaites will officially open The University of Technology (UTech) 17 Dome Street campus in Montego Bay, tomorrow.
The Dome Street campus is one of two locations in the resort city, the other being The UTech Caribbean School of Nursing located at 2 Cottage Close.
UTech’s operations in the west, under the leadership of Acting Principal, Associate Professor Geraldene Hodelin, also include the Trelawny campus located at the former Falmouth Baptist Manse, 9 Market Street.
Professor Errol Morrison, President, UTech, in welcoming the official opening, notes that “after three years, UTech has firmly consolidated its operations and planted firm roots in the west and is here to actively drive development and provide world-class education within easy access to citizens in the west.”
UTech in its expansion has begun positive transformation in the heart of Montego Bay. The Dome Street campus currently offers several programmes to a student population spanning the entire spectrum of western Jamaica. Programmes include graduate, undergraduate, professional and pre-university courses. These include the Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Associate Degree in Business Administration, Bachelor of Laws and the Bachelor’s in Math, and Education.
