SIBLING group Morgan Heritage is distancing itself from a report carried by another media house that they are supporting Jamaica Labour Party candidate Audley Shaw in his bid for leadership.

The band had done a dubplate of Reggae Bring Back Love and included the candidate’s name.

“Morgan Heritage would like to clarify that the dubplate of our hugely popular hit Reggae Bring Back Love was done “fi Jamaica” as Peetah clearly states in the intro,” read an official release.

“As is the norm on a dubplate, names are called, but everyone knows that this is not an indication of support or personal endorsement and should not be taken as such. While we wish the campaigners all the best, Morgan Heritage has not taken a position of support for any of the contenders and we do not endorse any politician or any political party,” the statement continued.

Shaw, opposition spokesman on finance, is challenging incumbent Andrew Holness for leadership of the 70-year-old party. Election is scheduled for the National Arena in Kingston on Sunday.
