Ram Goat Run tomorrow
THE inaugural inter-parish cross-country road challenge, Ram Goat Run, is scheduled for tomorrow.
The ‘run’, brainchild of Sandals/ATL Group CEO Adam Stewart, is aimed at raising five million dollars for the Cornwall Regional Hospital.
Stewart says the funds will go towards the purchase of a steriliser for the children’s ward.
“This piece of vital equipment costs approximately US$60,000 and will literally help to save lives,” says Stewart.
The event will see participants starting at the Caymanas Golf and Polo Club in St Catherine and heading to Buccaneer’s Jerk Centre in Llanrumney in Port Maria, St Mary, via Ocho Rios, St Ann. They eventually head back to the polo club via Junction main road. Contestants will solve clues and gain points towards finding the ram. Start time is slated for 8:00 am.
Prizes include luxury-included stays at Sandals resorts, state-of-the-art appliances and gadgets, such as plasma televisions and tablets from Appliance Traders Limited, free petrol, complimentary tours courtesy of Island Routes Caribbean Adventures, complimentary spa treatment and gift baskets.
The Ram Goat Run culminates with an ultra-inclusive after-party at the Caymanas Golf and Polo Club. Tickets for the after-party are $1,000 pre-sold and $1,500 at the gate. Pre-sold tickets are available at the ATL Automotive, Jamaica Observer and Ribbiz.
Sponsors include Rainforest Seafoods, National Bakery, Wray & Nephew, Wisynco, Land Rover, Sandals, ATL Appliance Traders, Jamaica Observer, Fyah 105 FM, Fame FM, Jamaica National Building Society, CIBC, GraceKennedy, and Knightfox AppDesign.
“The hospital needs our help and we feel that it’s our duty as Jamaicans to do what we can,” Stewart said.
