LIME Foundation brings good cheer to Sav Hospital
SAVANNA-LA-MAR, Westmoreland — WITH Santa, Elves and gifts in tow, the LIME Foundation team visited the children’s ward of the Savanna-la-Mar Hospital on Saturday, bringing Christmas cheer and smiles to both staff and patients.
Dubbed a “Christmas Mission of Kindness”, the western initiative is the second occasion for the festive season in which the foundation has paid visits to children who are hospitalised.
The staff and patients were treated to a Christmas tree-lighting, carols and gifts from Santa, who also made bed-to bed visits with those unable to move around.
“As we celebrate the season, we wanted to take the opportunity to do something special for children who are ill and not able to be with their friends and families in the traditional way at this time of year. All year round, we do things to help make the lives of young people better and this Christmas initiative is just another way of doing this” said Courtney Bell, Community Programmes Manager at LIME.
