Adventerous’s adventure continues
REGGAE singer Adventerous has spent most of his years in the spotlight.
At three, the United States-born entertainer won a Youth Day stage show competition and with it a trip to Disneyland. He repeated the feat the following year.
Since then the 23-year-old, whose given name is Alexander Walker, has been intent on carving a name for himself.
“I’m not what you would call a gimmicks artiste — my focus is really on the things that people can feel and relate to,” he said.
His influences include Junior Gong, Vybz Kartel, Bob Marley, Dennis Brown and Garnet Silk.
In late 2011, he was signed to Dennis Livingston’s Revolutionary Entertainment. He released Money On My Mind, which he has since remixed with rapper Meek Mill as well as Eyes Open on the Daily Bread riddim.
“I was in Philly and my manager felt that a cross-over collab like this would be ideal. The rapper liked the riddim and jumped on without hesitation,” he said.
He has since released
four mixtapes.
“I want full support from Jamaica, and by extension the Caribbean and the world. I aim to be an artiste who is recognised and respected worldwide,” he said.
