Falcons bow into action today
HOLLAND, Trelawny — Muschett Falcons will make their first appearance in the Western Basketball Association National Supplies Men’s Basketball Championships this afternoon when the competition continues with two games at Holland High in Trelawny.
The withdrawal of Sav Hawks and the rescheduling of the fixtures saw Falcons being idle through the first two weekends of the competition, but they will face last season’s losing finalists Boys Club Warriors at 3:00 pm, followed by Holland Saints against Knibb Thunder in the 4:30 pm feature.
Meanwhile, today Inner City Avalanche will seek to win their third straight game when they take on Cornwall Courts Chargers at the MoBay Community College starting at 3:00 pm.
Avalanche have won the previous two games, beating UWI Western Jamaica Campus and Holland Saints to lead the 12-team competition with four points, tied with Lightning Blitz.
Charges have won one of their two games and are tied on three points with Boys Club Warriors, Knibb Thunder and Spartans.
In the second game tomorrow, MoBay Community College Gladiators will be seeking their first win when they take on Sav Elite Titans, who have won their only game played so far.
On Tuesday, Lightning Blitz beat Spartans 52-44, while Chargers beat UWI, both games were played at UWI Western Jamaica Campus.
Tevin Brown scored 17 points to lead Blitz, while Kharsen Segree also scored 14 points and Ralique Grant with 15 points, Jevonne Campbell with 12 and David Peck with 10 points were the top scorers for SpartansFranz Clennon led Chargers with 14 points in their win, while Alex Campbell backed him up with 12 points as two players got six points each for UWI.
