ST Jago High and Jamaica College failed to separate themselves in the Inter-secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) Grace Shield, with the two-day two-innings semi-final round game ending in a no-result yesterday.

Scores: St Jago 311 all out, Jamaica College 125 for two.

Both teams were awarded two points each.

St Jago, batting first, seemed to be in a rush to get the game over with and made a mockery of their opponents’ bowling attack, when they piled up a daunting total of 311 all out on the first day.

Chad Morgan led the batting with a well-played 74, supported by Sanjay Clunis who made 62 and Sachin Taylor who unfortunately fell one short of a half-century with 49.

Akim Fraser was the pick of the bowlers for St Jago, bagging five for 80, backed by Jason Tapper who took three for 63.

Jamaica College in their reply were on the back foot at 17 for two at the close of play on day one.

Resuming from their overnight score, the Old Hope Road boys made steady progress and patiently got up to 125 for two when stumps were drawn. Akim Fraser 53 and Jason Tapper 33 saw off the Jago b.owling attack to finish the game not out.

The semi-final round continues on Wednesday when Kingston College will play Eltham High, Wolmer’s face-off against Ardenne and Excelsior will battle Jonathan Grant.
