Salcia Slack
Salcia Slack was a Holmwood Technical High School athlete, who seemed to dominate the championships whenever she made an appearance.
She competed in the discus, long jump, triple jump, and heptathlon events.
Slack was frequently described as a multi-talented athlete, with her fair share of record-breaking performances.
In 2007, she broke the Class Two long jump record with her jump of 6.11 metres. In 2008, she broke the 10-year Class One discus record of 45.13 metres, and shattered the 15-year national junior athlete record with her overall performance at the 2008 championships.
She was named most outstanding athlete of the championships in 2007 and 2008, and went on to represent Jamaica at the Carfita Games.
Slack is currently competing at the New Mexico Highlands University, where she is the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference athlete of the month for February 2014, a title that she is claiming for the second consecutive time.
