Jamaica will join over 150 countries participating in Earth Hour on March 29 for the single, largest symbolic mass participation event in the world. The event celebrates a commitment to the planet by switching off lights for one hour. This global campaign encourages individuals, businesses and governments to protect and take positive actions for the environment.

This year, Jamaica’s participation is being marked with the staging of a free reggae concert conceptualised by Jamaicansmusic.com, in partnership with Flow. Rootz Underground, Nature, Ikaya, Sky Grass, Jesse Royal, Machu Ezra, Runkus, Dann-I and Cali P will be taking to the stage at this acoustic reggae concert where thousands of people are expected to attend, signalling their commitment for the fight against climate change. At 8:30 pm, all Jamaicans are asked to turn off non-essential power to symbolise their commitment to join the fight to save planet earth. At this same time, attendees at the concert will release 100 lanterns into the night sky to officially mark Earth Hour.

Jamaica’s premier broadband service provider Flow, partners with Jamaicansmusic.com, are encouraging all Jamaicans to make their commitment to adopt even a single change to their lifestyle that will have a positive impact on the environment.

The Flow/Earth Hour Reggae concert is free to the public and will be held at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre on Saturday, March 29, from 6 pm to 11:30 pm.
