T Geddes Grant to distribute Alacta brand in Jamaica
T Geddes Grant has been appointed by Mead Johnson Nutrition as the exclusive distributor in Jamaica for the Alacta brand as of April 1, 2014.
Alacta is well known for its baby food formula feed.
Mead Johnson has 70 products distributed across 50 countries. In welcoming Geddes Grant as the local distributor of Alacta, Regional Manager of Mead Johnson Anthony Paty said: “I know that the brand is in good hands, because T Geddes Grant has a rigorous distributing system.”
T Geddes Grant has been in operation since 1901 and has been a subsidiary of the Musson Group of Companies since 1996. Today the company is divided into five divisions: Pharmaceutical, Consumer, Agriculture, Merchandise and Office Equipment.
Only last month, T Geddes Grant acquired the exclusive local distribution rights for Kimberly-Clark personal care brands, which include household names Kleenex, Scott and Huggies.
Managing Director of T Geddes Grant Michael Subratie said that his company has invested a significant amount of money in transport, warehouse and sales equipment upgrade.
“All our warehouse locations have been upgraded to meet Kimberly-Clark’s rigorous standards and ensure quality to the consumer. Significant investments have been made in delivery vans/trucks and IT handhelds and we will ensure that adequate supplies of the product are on the island and available in the market, “said Subratie.
Kimberly-Clark products are sold in more than 175 countries, with revenues exceeding US$20 billion a year. Its brands, which also include Kotex and Depend, cover every aspect of personal care paper-related products such as facial tissue, paper towels, baby and adult diapers, and feminine hygiene.
T Geddes Grant will triple its van/truck operations over the next six months.
