3 men, 1 woman detained for lottery scamming
HANOVER, Jamaica — Three men and a woman were on Friday taken into police custody by members of the Lottery Scam Task Force (LSTF) during an operation in Hanover.
Reports are that about 4:30 am, a team from the LSTF, along with members of the Hanover Police Division and the Jamaica Defence Force, carried out simultaneous operations at six premises in Lucea. During the raids, items said to be used in lottery scamming were seized and the four people detained for breaches of the Law Reform (Fraudulent Transactions) Special Provisions Act, 2013.
The police say the four will be questioned in the presence of their attorneys with a view of preferring charges.
