KINGSTON, Jamaica — Kingston College (KC) hold a slim four point lead after three finals in the inter Secondary Track and field Championships following the completion of the 2000m steeplechase Wednesday night in which Holmwood Technical’s OBrian Frith won in record time.

KC moved to 27 points after Romario Foote and Dino Rochester finished fourth and eighth respectively and garnered six points.

Jamaica College also picked up six points with Kamoy Blake and Kemar McCallum finishing fifth and seventh respectively.

Calabar’s Adrian Walker finished 13th as Champs favourite Calabar are yet to gain a point after three finals..

There was further setback for the defending champions Calabar as Jeron Davis turned up late for his Class Two 1,500m semi-final and missed the race. He tried in vain to get into the other semi final but was denied by the officials. Calabar’s second runner Chevenne Hamilton finished 10th fastest into the final.

Meanwhile Frith, last year’s runner-up won in 5:59.70 minutes to establish the second record of the meet. He is the first athlete under six minutes in the relatively new event at Champs and was well clear of second placed Larone Haye of St Jago in 6:03.41 minutes.
