Colour Festival a hit
LAST Sunday’s inaugural staging of Colour Festival held at Hope Gardens in St Andrew was a clear success.
The venue was packed to the rafters as patrons danced up a storm for every minute of the eight-hour event.
“I think it was very good. I’m still amazed by the overwhelming support shown tonight and am happy to have brought something fresh to the Jamaica market,” Safia Cooper, event organiser and Pulse’s director of sales and marketing, told the Jamaica Observer.
While the event has roots in the European-style electronic music festivals, the massive DJ booth’s set-up reflected more Caribbean tastes.
Deejays Kyle Desouza, Richie D and Sanjay, kept things lively. However, it was Kurt Riley who stole the night.
Patrons were given satchels of coloured powdered to decorate the air while Skyy Vodka and Appleton Estate VX added to the vibe.
“The plan now is to take the Colour Festival to the rest of the Caribbean islands,” said Cooper.
