TWENTY contestants have been selected for the Miss Universe Jamaica 2014 pageant. The eliminations took place Sunday at the Pegasus Hotel in Kingston.

After a closed-door elimination round, the finalists (19 were in attendance) were introduced to the media and sponsors.

They debuted in evening wear courtesy of Carvalho Boutique, then in swimwear by Polka Dots.

The finalists are: Roxanne Lewis, Trisha Maloney, Chanique James, Shantana Folkes, Dianne Brown, Christine Suragh, Kimar Muir, Angel Harrison, Sashana Barker, Soyini Phillips, Mary Jean Hinds, Diedre McKenzie, Zandrea Bailey, Davia Lynch, Princess Fraser, Kaci Fennell, Roshelle McKinley, Shanice Rerrie, and Saneta Kerr.

Key Motors, through its Hyundai brand, are main sponsors for the pageant. Co-sponsors include Maybelline, Garnier, Loreal Youth Code Skin Care Products, Starlight Productions, Beauty Statement, the Spanish Court Hotel, LIVE Stush, Step it Up, Wedding Dynamite, Spartan Wellness Centre, ASAP Signs and the RJR Communications Group.

Promoted by Karl Williams and Mark McDermott of Uzuri International, the finals take place August 30 at Karl Hendrickson Auditorium at Jamaica College in Kingston.

The winner will receive a 2015 Hyundai Grand I10 car as well as cash and other prizes. She will represent Jamaica at the Miss Universe final later this year.
