Stewards’ disciplinary actions
The stewards of the Jamaica Racing Commission have taken disciplinary actions against several jockeys following inquiries held on Tuesday July 1.
Jockey Paul Francis who rode Rough Patrick in the ninth race on Saturday June 14 had his explanation accepted for the interference caused to All That Matters shortly after the start.
Jockey Shane Ellis who rode Relampago in the eleventh race on Saturday June 14 had his explanation accepted for the interference caused to Bold Aviator and Queen Paula shortly after the start.
Jockey Ameth Robles who rode Fastandflashy in the fifth race on Saturday June 14 was suspended for three racedays and fined $8,000.00 for intimidation and interference caused to Fait Accompli and Raj Kapoor shortly after the start and intimidation; interference to Timeforacat and Devil’s Child after passing the 900-metre point, and intimidation and interference to Devil’s Child, Timeforacat and Gran Corazon after passing the 800-metre point. The suspension will take effect on Wednesday, July 9.
Jockey Romario Saunders who rode Get Dem Girl in the 12th race on Saturday June 14 was cautioned for the intimidation and interference caused to Above The Radar shortly after the start.
Jockey Dick Cardenas who rode Blue Eye Boy in the fifth race on Saturday June 21 was fined $8,000.00 for the interference caused to Dagga Dagga Links in the vicinity of the 100-metre point.
Jockey Shamaree Muir who rode Rolex in the 5th race on Sunday June 29 was fined $3,000.00 for failing to persevere with his mount to the winning post.
