KINGSTON, Jamaica – The National Works Agency (NWA) says that it has undertaken Hot Mix patching along 26 corridors in Kingston, St Andrew, St Catherine and St Thomas costing approximately $10 million.
Patching began on Wednesday, November 5, and is expected to be completed within six weeks, NWA said in a release Tuesday.
Twenty -one corridors in Kingston are being addressed. The roads being patched include West Kings House Road, Ruthven Road, Roseberry Drive, Mona Road, Hermitage Road, Holborn Road, Grove Road, Duhaney Drive and Central Road.
Two corridors, Mandella Highway (Twickenham Park to Ferry) and Bog Walk to Fletchers Avenue/Ewarton, in St Catherine have been selected for patching.
Patching will also be carried out along the Harbour View to Bull Bay main road in St Andrew.
In St Thomas patching will be carried out along the Bull Bay to Grants Pen and Port Morant to Pleasant Hill corridors.
Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the National Works Agency, Stephen Shaw said that the selected corridors “are quite busy and motorists who use these roadways should expect minor delays”.
The Hot Mix patching projects are expected to be completed by the end of January 2015, as activities will be suspended during the Christmas/New Year period, Shaw said
