Let’s face it, many Jamaicans have forsaken feelings of high esteem for politicians leaving no room for deference. The reasons for this somewhat hopeless write-off can objectively be justified. However, this perspective is being overturned with the mountain of promise that is apparent in a dignified few.

Notable among them is Dr Andrew Wheatley, member of parliament for South Central St Catherine. He is undeniably worthy of being lauded for his impressive performance to date, He has been selfless, resourceful, and an effective leader to his constituents.

The support he gave to the family of Jason Forbes, who died on the floor of the Spanish Town Hospital, as well as the issuance of e-learning software to seven schools in the area are just two acts on his success-fully executed work plan and it should not go unnoticed. In addition, he spearheaded a recently concluded project to clear a blockage caused by trees in the vicinity of the Homestead Primary School, which had students and other pedestrians venturing into the roadway. The difference is refreshing.

Dr Wheatley is hereby being urged to proceed steadily in this very lane, en route to delivering a distinguished political legacy.
