The driver of the Mack truck, who was alone, was not visibly hurt, but was tightlipped about the circumstances under which the mishap occurred.
Ewart Pahlie of the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management, said that the truck had been stuck from about 1:00 pm.
For a moment there was concern that the truck would have run off the narrow road, through the kerb wall and, possibly, into a house constructed on the hillside directly below. However, stones were used to prevent the vehicle from rolling back.
The vehicle was finally moved about 6:00 pm by another Mack truck driver, who used his vehicle to pull the disabled truck away from the wall. Cops from the nearby Ewarton Police Station stayed at the scene until the blockage was cleared.
