When did you start your career as a jockey?

I started my career as a jockey on September 8, 2012. My uncle Maurice Thomas, who was once a jockey, encouraged my other uncle Joseph Thomas, who is a trainer, to get me into racing. From there on, I became involved.

Which horse was your first winner?

My first winner came on November 26, 2012 aboard the Joseph Thomas-trained The Gummer. I was so happy and excited when I won my first race. It was a relief, it was an emotional moment for me as I felt an electric shock going through my entire body. I was really proud.

Which horse was your longest odds winner?

My longest odds winner was at 17-1 on Ovation for trainer Clifford Atkinson (Jr). I wasn’t that surprised with the victory as I go into every race with the intention of winning. But it was a good win overall and I am happy each time I win a race.

Which is the best horse that you have ridden?

Although I didn’t win on her but the Wayne DaCosta – trained Also Correct is the best horse that I have ridden so far. Also Correct is a nice horse that will never give up in any race. But my favourite horses are Ovation and Water Wave as I won two races on each of them.

Which is the best horse that you have seen race at Caymanas Park?

I have seen a lot of talented horses race at Caymanas Park. There were Miracle Man, Mark My Word, A King Is Born, Quiet Strength, to name a few. I have heard about The Viceroy, Legal Light and Royal Dad but never saw them. I cannot really pick out any one, as they all are good horses.

Who influenced your career the most?

My uncles Maurice and Joseph Thomas really helped me a lot and I thank them for everything that they have done for me, plus there are many others, so I thank everyone.
