Sagicor Sigma raises J$26 m in Corporate Run
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Sagicor Sigma, in its bid to raise $25 million for Jamaica Kidney Kids Foundation and the Neonatal Unit at Cornwall Regional Hospital, surpassed its target raising just over $26 million in the 17th staging of its 5K Corporate Run in Kingston on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Rupert Green and Juliett Dinnal finished top in the male and female Open Run at the event, which saw a record turnout of over 24,000 participants.
Green covered the distance in a blistering time of 16 minutes and 29 seconds equalling the time of national cross-country representative Shawn Pitter who won the event last year. Pitter who was relegated into second position finished in a time of 16 minutes and 39 seconds, while Gregory McKenzie was third in 17 minutes and 31 seconds.
Dinnal easily won the female section in 21 minutes and 14 seconds, ahead of Karlene Blagrove who clocked 21 minutes and 44 seconds with Natalee Gooden-Burkard finishing third in a flat 23 minutes.
