Sayonara, Mr Takase
SET to end his posting as Japanese Ambassador to Jamaica later this month, Asian diplomat Yasuo Takase welcomed high commissioner and ambassador peers, government officials, and business leaders to a farewell reception at his official residence in Kingston’s Golden Triangle neighbourhood on Thursday night.
Joined at his side by ever-stylish wife Sayoko and their visiting medical student daughter Yuria, Takase spoke glowingly of his almost three-year stint on the island; citing his accomplishments which included facilitating not one, but two meetings between the Japanese and Jamaican prime ministers, as well as strengthening economic, educational and social interventions.
