Observer ‘Champs’ photos wrap JUTC buses

THE buses that the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) officially handed over to 2014 Inter-secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA)/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships winners Calabar High and Edwin Allen High on Tuesday are wrapped in Jamaica Observer photographs of the annual event.

This is the second year that the Observer has been asked by the JUTC to contribute photos to the effort.

The photos on this year’s buses were taken by Observer Photo Editor Bryan Cummings at last year’s Champs. Cummings has been covering track and field athletics at the local and international levels for the past 25 years.

In 2012, Cummings, along with track-and-field athletics experts Hubert Lawrence and Michael Grant published Power and the Glory, a 325-page book highlighting Jamaica’s involvement in world athletics, from World War II to the Diamond League era.
