Faulkland hand Copperwood first loss in Sandals/ATL Div One
BICKERSTETH, St James — Faulkland FC handed Copperwood FC their first loss of the season 2-0 on Monday and moved two points clear at the top of the points standing in the St James Football Association Sandals/ATL Division One.
Faulkland FC’s fourth win took them to 13 points, two more than Club Stars, who were held 1-1 by Revelations FC at the UDC field, while in another game at Granville, Irwin beat Granville City 3-1.
At Bickersteth, Jason Malcolm and Brian Barker both scored their third goal each to lead Faulkland FC; Malcolm gave them the lead in the 39th minute, while Barker added a second in the 81st minute.
Club Stars dominated their game against Revelations FC for long periods and went ahead in the 15th minute through Sheldon Clarke.
Their wasteful habits caught up with them, however, as after failing to capitalise on several scoring chances, Revelations FC grabbed a late equaliser through Sebastian Robinson in the 85th minute.
At Granville, Irwin got their second win to move into the top half of the table, as an own goal in the eighth minute, Romario Clarke in the 39th and Demar Roach in the 75th led them to an easy win.
Gareth Williams had scored for Granville City in the 70th minute to cut the deficit to one at one time.
