Knox top CC in Clarendon youth league
MAY PEN, Clarendon — Knox College scored convincing victories over Clarendon College as action in Zone A of the Clarendon/INSPORTS John Green Memorial Under-13 and Under-15 competitions continued in mid-week.
The Spalding-based Knox got by Clarendon 3-0 in both divisions, with Ronald Robinson (fifth), Kymani Wright (37th) and Raheem Williams (57th) doing the damage in the U-13 age-group.
At the U-15 level, goals from Roger Cohen (seventh), Andre Green (27th) and Carvel Allen (48th) enabled Knox to complete the double over their north Clarendon rivals in Chapelton.
Elsewhere, Garvey Maceo and Lennon High failed to produce a winner in their games at Vernamfield.
They played out a 0-0 stalemate in the U-13s, before Huntley Stewart’s last-gasp strike earned Lennon a 1-1 draw in the U-15s. Courtney Brown had given hosts Garvey Maceo a 1-0 lead in the 50th minute.
The competition continues with a full slate of matches on Friday.
Clarendon College host Denbigh in Chapelton, Glenmuir High play away to Garvey, Lennon play Knox in Spalding, Central High travel to Kemps Hill, Vere Technical welcome Spalding High, while guest teams Jonathon Grant and Old Harbour High clash in the St Catherine derby in Spanish Town.
Action begins at 1:30 pm with the U-13s.
