Man Feelings, says Alpha Rowen
REGGAE singer Alpha Rowen is hoping to make musical strides from his latest single Man Feelings.
Released in December 2014 and produced by Smashing Records and Ancient Mystic Music, Man Feelings deals with emotions that men are often too macho to speak about.
“Man Feelings has the persona of a massive hit written all over it, the profound mastery and respectful commanding plea of a hard-working, loyal and committed family-man, speaking of the psychological impact unappreciativeness has on the seldom expressed emotions of a macho male, yearning for love to give him strength to lead the charge of fighting the survival war in challenging situations on behalf of the family he desperately desires to keep together,” he said.
Alpha Rowen, a native of Jones Town in St Andrew, appeared on the music scene in 1992 with Tell Me Teacher. This got him needed attention, which saw him recording for Sonic Sounds and other producers until him and his brother, Durrant Rowe, teamed musically which gave birth to the Ancient Mystic Music Label in 1994.
It was 1998 that he earned national recognition with Africa’s Calling, under his then stage name Rolex.
“In 2001 I released my debut album called Teacher which led to a tour of Europe a year later. Among the places I performed were France, Belgium, Germany to Denmark, back to Germany, then to where the tour ended in England,” he said.
Among the 48-year-old other releases are No Chaka Chaka and What Can I Do Lord.
