Old-school style from Carlito
SINCE he began his music career a few years ago, deejay Carlito has educated himself about the intricacies of the industry.
The artiste says longevity is something he hopes to achieve.
These days, Carlito is promoting the single Never Been Touched. Now based in Canada, he has performed on a number of club gigs within the Toronto area and across Canada. “My style of music is more of 70s or 80s dancehall style. It is totally different from what is going on today. I am a trendsetter and I don’t follow current trends,” he said.

Born Roynell Young, Carlito is originally from Negril, Westmoreland. At 12, he migrated to Canada.
“I grew up listening to artistes like Shabba Ranks, Burning Spear, Buju Banton, and Sanchez. It was one of my high school music teachers who became a somewhat mentor to me and encouraged me to pursue my musical aspirations,” said Carlito.
