TeenAGE Observer returned to the site of our first ever Expression Tour Edwin Allen — who are also the 2014 girls champions of the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ & Girls’ Athletics Championships.
Music, courtesy of DJ Cash Price with the assistance of Legend Sound, in the school’s auditorium, signalled the beginning of the show.
The show was emceed by Jamaica Observer’s Kesi Asher.
The show kick started with a giveaway from Flow. Roshane Seaton gave the correct answer and got the prize.
First performance of the day came from Acting Dinamic Actors. This energetic group depicted real-life issues in a comedic format, to the delight of their peers. The crowd enjoyed their performance and applauded their effort.
Next to take the stage was X-Factor Dancers. The dance duo worked the stage well. Their synchronised dance moves seemed to be working for them as the crowd loved their performance.
Another dance group took the stage to entertain the crowd of students and judges. The Edwin Allen Dancers were a vibrant group. They delivered their best to the crowd of students.
Yashieka Bailey was up next, and as she approached the stage, the crowd chanted her name. She belted the lyrics to the popular Jesus Take The Wheel, by Carrie Underwood. The crowd went into a frenzy as she ended her performance with Jesus Leads Me Beside Still Waters.
It was now time for another giveaway. I-Tanya Mullings was the winner, from AAMM Co-operative Credit Union.
Chaviena Thompson’s confidence could not go unnoticed as she commanded the stage with Lord, I Need You. However, she overspent her time on stage and the crowd quickly urged her off.
The group Destiny performed a dub-poem entitled Jamaica. This dub-poem was about societal issues in Jamaica. The crowd applauded their efforts.
Simple Dimension, a girl duo, took the stage and performed an original piece entitled School. They bragged about their love for school, their school’s track history and their school’s aim to take girls’ champs this year.
Romain gave a wonderful rendition of Adele’s One and Only. His melodies filled the auditorium as he took charge of the stage.
Annakay Williamson did a fair performance of Louise Bennett’s My Dream.
Another dance group took the stage. Eagles’ creative effort could not go unnoticed. This dance duo wooed the crowd throughout their performance.
Audiesha Williams wowed the judges and the crowd with her vocal ability. She caused the crowd of students to go into a frenzy yet again as she belted a popular Whitney Houston song.
A champs song was deejayed by DJ Elite.
A remix of Vybz Kartel and Keshan’s Whine With You was done by Davian Johnson and Company, delighting the audience with their champs version.
Last performance of the day came from Ocho Estrias. This group danced to three Spanish songs. They pleased the crowd with salsa moves and upbeat Spanish moves.
As the judges (from left) Keifa French, Shannon Murray, Yohan Myers and Leighton Wallace from AAMM Co-operative Credit Union, deliberated, students were treated with musical selections from DJ Cash Price.
Edwin Allen Dancers were placed third. In second place was Ocho Estrias and first place went to the dancers, Eagles.
