ISSA issues warning
THE Inter-secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) announced that it is prepared to take legal action against individuals or companies making unauthorised affiliation of their brands with the Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships under way at the National Stadium.
ISSA warned that such actions are illegal and directly contravene the rights of approved sponsors of Champs 2015.
“ISSA has observed instances where unauthorised individuals and companies have been giving an impression that they are in partnership with the organisers and associated with Champs 2015 by engaging in activity such as sharing of copyright names, images, videos and messages,” the association said in a statement.
The schools sports body called on those in breach to immediately cease and desist from activities connecting them with the event and pledged to move aggressively to protect the rights of legitimate sponsors.
“ISSA reminds the public that only the following approved sponsors have the right to associate their brands with Champs 2015: GraceKennedy, LIME, Huawei, TVJ, Pepsi/Gatorade, and Puma,” the association said.
