Glorious Jermaine!
Former Holmwood Technical High School star Jermaine Blackwood scored his maiden Test match hundred (112 not out) in the first innings of the drawn first Test between West Indies and England at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua last week.
Blackwood, who left Holmwood Technical in 2010 as captain of the Christiana school cricket team, hit 14 fours and two sixes and faced 220 balls to hold the West Indies first innings together.
Blackwood, a native of White House, eastern Westmoreland, also made 31 in the second innings as West Indies, led by a maiden Test century from Barbadian Jason Holder, batted through the final session of the fourth day and the entire fifth day to ensure the drawn result.
