Jamalco, Sporting clash in KO semi-final
HAYES, Clarendon — Semi-final action continues today in the Noel Arscott/Clarendon FA Knockout competition with Jamalco FC hosting Sporting Central FC at the Wembley Centre of Excellence in Hayes.
Jamalco and Sporting advanced to the last four having scored 5-0 victories in their respective quarter-final games against Four Paths and New Bowens.
Kick-off is set for 3:00 pm, with the winner scheduled to meet Humble Lion FC in the final.
The defending champions cruised into the championship game with a 5-1 victory over Major League minnows Treadlight in their semi-final at the Effortville Community Centre on Monday.
Odaine Brown gave Humble Lion the lead on 41 minutes before Levaughn Williams doubled their advantage in the 58th. Fabian Pascoe made it 3-0 in the 75th, with Omando McLeod adding the fourth three minutes later.
Treadlight got their consolation through Mushie-Lee Dawkins in the 86th minute, but Horace Sharpe restored Humble Lion’s four-goal cushion in the 89th to keep the central Clarendon side on course for a fourth successive knockout title.
