Denbigh: where souls are saved
AMID agriculture and parish council interests, gospel acts were out in force at yesterday’s launch of the 63rd annual Denbigh Agricultural, Industrial and Food show.
Present at the Hi-Pro Limited offices in White Marl, St Catherine were singers Kevin Downswell, Carlene Davis, Judah and J Cee.
Also set to grace the Denbigh stage on the August 2 Gospel Extravaganza are Goddy Goddy, Courtney Cooke, On the Shout Band, and Jermaine Gordon.
Tommy Cowan of Glory Music said the gospel showcase is the highlight of Denbigh.
“It’s the place where seeds are sown, lives are redeemed and souls saved,” he observed.
Cowan added that a special feature of this year’s presentation will be a Time of Prayer for the nation’s children.
Other entertainment features include a Digicel Rising Stars showcase on August 1 (Emancipation Day), and the National Farm Queen Coronation show. This year’s Denbigh show theme is ‘Grow What We Eat, Eat What We Grow’.
