Nature shares his Life’s Journey
NATURE launched his debut album Life’s Journey at the Redbones Blues Café in Kingston Tuesday evening. Music industry insiders and fans flocked the colourfully decorated Argyle Road haunt to share the landmark moment with the roots singer.
Damion Crawford, member of Parliament for St Andrew East Rural and state minister in the Ministry of Tourism and Entertainment, addressed the gathering ahead of Nature’s performance.
Crawford stated that entertainment should be seen and treated as a business.
“Entertainment has proven itself as a means of making people get rich. It mek Beenie Man stop lifting up sound box and Bounty [Killer] stop selling figurine,” he said.
Nature delivered a stirring performance on the strength of the songs Trying Man, Break Free, Revolution, Black Forces, World Peace, Original Natural Herb and I Love You.
Speaking to Splash following his set, Nature (born Andre Ellis) said Life’s Journey has been in the making since he signed with Downsound Records five years ago.
“It’s life journey because I sing about life, my observations. I sing about world peace, about everything; the middle-class, the lower-class, all classes,” he said. “It’s just a journey and you can expect more positive music from me.”
Nature has been performing in Europe and Australia as promotion for Life’s Journey.
