Suspected lottery scammer arrested in Kingston
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The police arrested a suspected lottery scammer in Kingston yesterday.
Reports are that about 11:15 am, a premises on Windward Road was searched and several sheets of paper containing identity information of other people were found (lead sheet).
The man was then arrested on suspicion of breaches of the Law Reform (Fraudulent Transactions) (Special Provisions) Act.
He is expected to be charged with possession of identity information and using premises to possess identity information after being interviewed in the presence of his attorney.
The police say they are also working with international partners to ascertain victims overseas in an effort to have additional charges laid against him.
