Jamaica suffer 0-1 defeat to Uruguay in Copa America match-up

ANTOFAGASTA, Chile — Jamaica went down 0-1 to defending champions Uruguay in their Copa America Group B opening match-up here on Saturday.

Jamaica were arguably the better of the two sides in the first half, and were resolute in their defence, keeping Uruguay at bay.

However, an all-important goal from Cristian Rodríguez in minute 52 sealed the win for the South Americans.

Jamaica are in action against 2011 runners-up Paraguay on Tuesday while Uruguay will face favourites Argentina.
