Powell eases to 9.81 Diamond League win

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Former world record holder Asafa Powell finished ahead of the men’s 100m field at the Paris Diamond League meet a short while ago.

Powell ran a season’s best of 9.81 seconds to finish ahead of France’s Jimmy Vicaut, who finished in a time of 9.86 seconds to set a new national record.

Third was American Michael Rodgers (9.99), while Nester Carter finished fourth in a time of 10.02 seconds.
