Competition close at karting
Ryan Lue was the toast of the day at Sunday’s Jamaica Karting Association meet number four at the Palisadoes International Raceway, Kingston. His set of victories in his 80cc class assured him the spot of highest points scorer for the event.
“It was great to see him drive like that. The key has just been practice, practice, practice,” Craig Lue, Ryan’s father, told Auto.
Lue admitted his son has been already preparing for his move into the 125cc Minimax class next year, which has helped him gain even more speed.
“We’ve been testing the faster karts for a while now, but he’ll close out the year in 80cc,” said Lue.
The young Lue was the top points scorer in 80cc with Zachary Williams and Kyami Phillips, second and third, respectively.
In 50cc, millimetres often separated racers over the finish line. However, it was Shane Chisholm that collected the most points for the day over Zachary Sirgany and Paul Moodie.
In the Minimax class, another Chisholm, Ryan, topped the leaderboard ahead of Tommi Gore and Mark Moodie.
The expected battle in Rotax Seniors went the way of Collin Daley Jr as he beat out rival William Myers. Jonathan Law completed the class top three.
Rotax Master continues to be dominated by Peter Moodie Jr, as his class competitors Mark Minott in second and Ishmael Moodie in third attempt to unlock the secret to dethrone him.
