Portmore woman charged with fraud
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica – A woman was arrested and charged for forgery and uttering forged document by detectives attached to the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC) on July 27.
She is 46-year-old Claudette Thomas of 1 North, Greater Portmore in St Catherine.
Reports are that between January and February 2015 Thomas was reportedly contracted by a company to carry out business on their behalf.
It is alleged that she acted contrary to the terms of her employment and collected monies intended for the company, which she failed to hand over.
The matter was reported to the police, an investigation launched and Thomas subsequently arrested.
She is scheduled to appear before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrates Court on Tuesday, August 11.
