KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica’s Salcia Slack finished 15th in Group B of the women’s Heptathlon High Jump after clearing the bar with a leap of 1.62 metres at the IAAF World Championship now under way in Beijing, China.

Her High Jump performance puts her on 1,740 points and in position 31 after two events at the championships,

Britain’s Jessica Ennis-Hill, with a solid start in the morning session of day one of the championship, is leading the women’s Heptathlon on 2,192 points ahead of teammate Katarina Johnson-Thompson who is on 2,162 points. Nadine Visser of the Netherlands is in third place on 2,131 points.

There are still five events to go before the winner is decided, with the 200-metre race and Shot Put event set for the afternoon session. The other three events: Long Jump, Javelin Throw and 800 metres, are set for day two of the championships.

Slack had earlier finished eighth in the Heptathlon 100 metres.
