#BEIJING2015: Busy session ahead for Team Jamaica

KINGSTON, Jamaica – After sizzling performances by the Jamaican men in the 100-metre heats earlier today, the women will show their prowess when they hit the Bird’s Nest track in their heats at 11:00 pm.

Veronica Campbell-Brown will take the track at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing, China, in heat one, running out of lane six, while Natasha Morrison runs out of lane two in heat two.

World and Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce will run out of lane nine in heat four while Sherone Simpson will take up her position in lane five of heat six.

Meanwhile, Jamaica’s Salcia Slack will this evening compete in two additional Heptathlon events: Long Jump and the Javelin Throw.

Jamaica will also be well represented in the heats of the women’s 400-metre hurdles by Kaliese Spencer, Ristananna Tracey, Shevon Stoddart, and Janieve Russell.

Javon Francis, Peter Matthews and Rusheen McDonald will seek to claim their spots in the 400-metre semi-finals when they line up at 10:10 pm in the heats.

And O’Dayne Richards will seek to make his mark in the Shot Put qualifying round when that event kicks off at 9:05 pm.
