#BEIJING2015: Simoya Campbell finishes 5th in Women’s 800m heat
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica’s Simoya Campbell failed to qualify for the women’s 800m semi-final after finishing fifth in heat three at the 15th IAAF World Championships now under way in Beijing, China.
Campbell, who led for the majority of the race, faded into fifth, finishing in a time of 2:01:43 seconds in what was a slow heat.
Poland’s Sofia Ennaoui was first in a time of 2:01:16 while Cuba’s Rose Mary Almanza was second with 2:01:33 seconds.
Slovakia’s Lucia Klocova was third in a time of 2:01:35 seconds.
