Defending champion St Elizabeth, high-riding St Ann and Kingston have all booked their places in the semi-finals of the Kingston Wharves Under-15 Cricket Competition at the end of the fifth and final preliminary-round of matches on Friday.

They each won all four preliminary round matches in their zones.

St Elizabeth defeated Manchester at Manchester High School by seven wickets after winning the toss and inviting Manchester to bat. They made a paltry 40 all out in 18.5. Kenardo Williams with 10 was the only player to get into double figures.

The wickets went to Romain Jacob, who grabbed three for four from five overs, Gregory Greaves with two for five from three overs, and Giovanni Townsend with two for 14 from three overs.

St Elizabeth replied with 41 for three in 7.1 overs. Romario Moxon 18, and Odane Thompson 15 not out got the bulk of the runs. Kenardo Williams came back to take all three wickets to fall for 11 in four overs.

St Ann steamrolled Trelawny at the Trelawny Multi-Purpose Stadium by 299 runs after they were sent in to bat and made 364 for 7 in 40 overs. Andre Smiley 119, Rasheed Edwards 83, Crammon Clarke 49, and Michael Thompson 30 not out dominated the batting. Romario Haughton (2-63-7) was the pick of the bowlers. Trelawny were skittled out for 65 in 17 overs. Tyrese Walters with 11 was the only player to offer any resistance. Kevon Hinds got a five-for (5-4-4) and Michael Thompson bagged three for 29 in eight overs.

Kingston got the better of St Andrew at Lucas Cricket Club by 21 runs after making 148 all out in 36.4 overs on the back of Akeem Malcolm’s 85. Nikit Gupte with four for 15 in eight overs, and Nicholas Lewin with two for 21, also in eight overs got the bulk of the wickets.

The fourth semi-final place will go to either Westmoreland, St Mary or Portmore who all ended on three wins each.

Westmoreland played several low-scoring matches and Friday’s was no different. They defeated St James by nine wickets at Orange Cricket Ground. St James won the toss and batted, making 57 all out in 21 overs. Anil Braham with eight runs top scored. Eljay Spence was the top bowler with four for 15 in five overs. Other bowlers chipped in with Rajae Simpson and Rikoy Samuels getting two wickets each.

Westmoreland replied with 59 for one in 6.2 overs with Jerome James 22 not out and Tyrese Frue 10 not out as well. The lone wicket taker was Demark Baker, who conceded 22 runs in two overs.

St Mary defeated the winless Portland by 198 runs at Boscobel Primary School. St Mary made 247 all out in 38.3 overs with Deshaun Hylton 33, Zandie Williams and Xavier Marshall 24 each. Andel Gordon and Jahiem Kennedy got three and two wickets, respectively. Portland replied with just 49 all out in 15 overs with Shemar Heslop 16 and Bruce Blackett 14 accounting for the runs. Deshaun Hylton and Tajae Coke got three wickets each.

Portmore got by Clarendon at Sir P’s Oval by six wickets. Clarendon batted first to make 218 all out in 34 overs on the back of Dave Francis’ 54, Romain Silva’s 26 and Omario Gordon’s 23. Shamar Bulli (4-45-7.4) and Faiz Reid (3-33-8) were the main wicket takers.

Portmore got home after making 219 for four in the 33 overs. Ricardo Thompson got 82 not out and Sachin Simms supported with 38. Omario Gordon returned two for 41 in four overs.

The semi-finals are scheduled for today.
