KINGSTON, Jamaica – Residents in Cassia Park, St Andrew are livid as they have been without water for two weeks, yet an underground pipe has been leaking water onto the roadway in their community for the last four days.

The leak is in the vicinity of Cassia Park Road, just in front of Carisol Limited.

Although that company, which is a solar energy store, say they are not affected by the leak as it does not flow onto their complex, some residents were upset about the water being wasted when OBSERVER ONLINE visited the area Tuesday.

Tony Green, who has been a Cassia Park Road resident for many years, said that he has been without water for more than two weeks due to the drought.

“Imagine, big Sunday and you cyaa bathe. No water,” Green said.

He further alleged that the leak started after operators from the National Water Commission dug a hole at the location and left it unrepaired.

“Since them dig it up we nuh have no water,” Green complained. “And now them turn on back the water and all a it waste.”
