Six schools off shift system in Region 5
MANCHESTER, Jamaica – Regional director in the Ministry of Education’s region five (Manchester and St Elizabeth) Dr Nadine Leachman has confirmed that as of today six schools in the two parishes combined are off the shift system.
She said the BB Coke High School, Hatfield Primary and Junior High, New Forest Primary and Junior High, Nain Primary and Junior High, Santa Cruz Primary and Junior High, and the Roger Clarke High School (formerly Balaclava High) are all off the shift system.
Leachman said that with the exception of an incident at the Fyffes Pen Primary School in the South Western section of St Elizabeth, where she heard parents protested the replacement of a teacher they claimed was “pushed out”, the school year has started well.
“Most things are in place,” she told the OBSERVER ONLINE by telephone.
