St Andrew man charged with forgery
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Police officers attached to the Counter Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigations Branch (C-TOC) say a man was arrested and charged for breaches of the Larceny and Forgery acts on Saturday.
In custody is 48-year-old Howard Hares of Astoria Drive in Red Hills, St Andrew.
Reports are that on Friday, Hares went to a bank where he tendered a cheque for J$150,000. During the verification procedure the cheque was discovered to be forged.
A report was made at the Fraud Squad of C-TOC which led to the arrest and charge of Hares. He is scheduled to appear before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, October 8, where he is to answer to charges of obtaining money by false pretence, conspiracy to defraud, forgery and uttering forged documents.
