Chelsea lost a third game in their fifth outing this season after falling 3-1 at Everton on Saturday. Steven Naismith got his first start and made use of it by scoring an early double to precede Nemanja Matic’s screamer. There was no comeback however, as Naismith added a third to shock Fantasy managers worldwide.

Manchester United also ran out 3-1 winners over arch-rivals Liverpool to put more pressure on Reds manager Brendan Rodgers. After a dull first half, United sprung to life when man of the match Daley Blind beat goalkeeper Simon Mignolet. Anthony Martial did well to score a superb solo goal, in capping a great day for United.

Amid criticism of his recent La Liga form, Cristiano Ronaldo netted five goals on Saturday against Espanyol to power Real Madrid to a 6-0 win. He had a hat trick by the 20th minute but returned late on to tap home crosses from Gareth Bale and Isco.

La Liga champions Barcelona were made to fight in a slender 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid at Vicente Calderon. Forgotten man Fernando Torres gave Atletico the lead on 55 minutes, pinging his shot in off the upright. However, Barca roared back with Neymar and Leo Messi making the difference.

Juventus have still yet to win a game this season, after drawing 1-1 with Saturday’s league leaders Chievo Verona. Because of Perparim Hetemaj’s early goal, Chievo held the initiative until new signing Paulo Dybala stole a point for Juve seven minutes from time. The Champions League finalists play Manchester City on Tuesday.

Newly promoted Frosinone put up a good fight with AS Roma until stoppage time where Roma completed a 2-0 win.  Iago Falque scored on the stroke of halftime before Juan Manuel Iturbe added a second with a solo effort almost 45 minutes later.

Bayern sneaks to close win

It took a 90th minute penalty for Bayern Munich to win their 2-1 win over Augsburg. Alexander Esswein fired in the opener minutes before halftime and the away team held that lead before some late drama. It was a controversial penalty awarded but Thomas Muller was on hand to secure the win following Robert Lewandowski’s equalizer.

There was another lively match in Hannover where Borussia Dortmund defeated the home team 4-2 on Saturday. Artur Sobiech netted a brace for Hannover but it was Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who secured the win for Dortmund, with a brace of his own.
