Trainer Winston Morris deserving of praise
HE is not well known to racing fans, but trainer Winston Morris must be commended for his handling thus far of the imported bay colt, Force De Jour.
Morris claimed the importee on August 29 for $450,000. He then placed Force De Jour at the $550,000 over the five straight with Omar Walker on September 5 and won easily by four lengths over Sunlight Express and Sparkling Mickaela in a reasonable time of 59.2 seconds carrying 54.0 kilogrammes.
Then came last Saturday with Morris deciding to step up the ladder by placing Force De Jour in another five straight, this time at Overnight Allowance. With Paul Francis in the saddle, Force De Jour scored another victory clipping a fifth of a second from his prior clocking on September 5. Force De Jour defeated Edison (Omar Walker) by a length and a quarter, with Rum Punch ending in third position.
Two good wins for Morris and his team.
