SSP Bailey is new head of Clarendon Division
SENIOR Superintendent of Police (SSP) Fitz Bailey has been reassigned to head the Clarendon Division, the Police High Command announced Tuesday.
SSP Bailey, who was the former Commander of the St. Andrew Central Division and Area 4 Headquarters, was expected to take up duties in Clarendon yesterday.
The Police High Command said Bailey has been mandated to organise operational activities geared at curtailing the recent upsurge of violence in the parish of Clarendon and to institute programmes aimed at boosting the morale of the men and women of the division.
The new Clarendon head, the High Command said, will be supported by an additional senior officer who will be shortly transferred to the parish.
A week ago, the High Command also assigned Senior Superintendent of Police Millicent Sproul-Thomas to take command of the St Andrew Central Division and Superintendent of Police Vendolyn Cameron-Powell to take command of Area 3, with responsibility for the parish of Manchester, making her the latest of the six female divisional commanders of the constabulary.
The other female divisional commanders are superintendents Jacqueline Green of St Andrew North, Stephanie Lindsay of St. Mary, Oberlyn Smith of Portland, and Charmaine Shand of St Thomas.
